by Amma Sharon

"This imaginative children's story introduces Snappy, a curious, woodland Gnome. Enchantingly brought to life through whimsical rhyme, creative imagery and sumptuous, felted wool illustrations, this story invites children and adults alike on a journey of self discovery!"

Book one in the Happy Hollow series introduces Snappy, a lovable gnome, on a quest to find a sizable, new home. Snappy longs for something  greater. He pauses, feels, asks powerful questions that call forth the next step of his journey. Possibility and insight greet him through the wise and welcoming characters he meets along the way discovering; "Within the magic of the asking, lives the magic to receive, wonderfully exciting, endless possibility!"

"All through the adventure series of Snappy, The Curious Woodland Gnome, I was enchanted with the questions posed and the poetic language that moves the stories along. More than sweet stories these imaginative tales pose important life discovery questions that children might ponder and bring into their playtime. Their parents and grandparents would find the questions intriguing as well, as they seem to hold a timeless fascination. Illustrated with unique and luscious wool paintings that bring the stories to life, these tales will enchant children of the heart no matter their age." ~ Robin White Turtle Lysne, Ph.D.

More than sweet stories Amma Sharon's imaginative tales are filled with archetypical messages of gratitude, curiosity and possibility.  Her stories guide us toward a consciousness that enlivens the world around us and awakens the world within us!

Amma Sharon has been telling stories to children for many years. She believes all children are precious gifts full of infinite possibility. Her delightfully inspiring children's books support creativity, curiosity and possibility.

Rhythmical language and poetic phrasing have long been a passion of hers, writing and illustrating her first two books of poetry at the young age of 12. The rhymed meter of her stories are not only pleasing to the ear, they also carry qualities that meet us in ethereal realms where 'life forces' are constantly forming and transforming us.

The mother of five sons, a blossoming tribe of grandchildren and over thirty years as a early childhood teacher, midwife and artist of various mediums, she weaves tales that delight the imagination of young and old alike.

A felting artist for many years, creating felted character puppets to complement her storytelling, the author became inspired to illustrate her children's books with felted illustrations that express a depth of warmth, color and life not to be found in other media. These felted images have become Amma Sharon's unique signature illustration style. The sumptuous images seem to reach out and invite you into their beautiful world.

Amma Sharon lives in coastal California where she enjoys the early morning sounds of barking seals, fog horns and walks along the ocean in good company of dolphins, breaching whales and soaring pelican pods.
