Held every three years, the General Assembly of the IFCU is a gathering of Catholic university leaders from around the world to share experiences, engage in dialogue, and reflect on the challenges of higher education from the perspective of faith, knowledge, and social commitment.
The theme of this 28th edition, Catholic Universities as Choreographers of Knowledge, invites us to envision educational institutions as spaces for the transmission of knowledge and as agents that orchestrate it with creativity, ethics, and a sense of transcendence. Just as a choreographer shapes movement to convey a deeper idea, Catholic universities are called to chart new paths of thought, interdisciplinary dialogue, and human commitment in service of a more just and fraternal world.
This edition will be significant as it marks the conclusion of the centennial of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (1924–2024), whose commemoration began in January 2024 in Rome with the conference: The University and the Church: The Future of the Catholic University.
Over five days, the program will feature:
Keynote lectures by internationally renowned speakers,
Roundtables, workshops, and dialogue spaces on academic diplomacy, the social impact of universities, and the integral experience of culture and faith.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to experience moments of fraternal fellowship and explore the historical and cultural heritage of the Guadalajara region in Mexico.
