a group of believers reading through the Bible in chronological order and sharing what we glean as we get to know Jesus better each day
We’re living in a time replete with lies. Who do we trust? Who is telling the truth? It’s really hard to know these days. But does that mean we should throw up our hands and put our heads in the sand? I think not.
I’m a truth-seeker. I want to walk in the truth and make decisions based on truth. I bet you do too.
And that means we need to know the Truth. His name is Jesus.
That’s what I want. I want to be so filled with Truth that the lies are obvious. So filled with Truth that the darkness flees. So filled with Truth that I’m free from worry. So filled with Truth that I have peace – even in the midst of the chaos we’re living in right now.
How about you?
Are you tired of having your attention pulled in a million directions? Tired of feeling anxious and unsure about where things are headed? You probably are – because almost everyone is!
The answer to all of this chaos is to be grounded so fully in Truth that nothing shakes us. In order to be unshakeable, we need to build our lives on the solid foundation of God’s word. Putting our trust in anything or anyone else is sinking sand – unstable, unnerving, and anxiety-producing. We can’t count on it. The only thing you CAN count on is the Truth of God’s word.
You are invited – to read the Bible – in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER – meaning read in the order in which the events occurred - to see the narrative unfold in order as – one big epic story! Because that’s what it is – and we are a part of it!
Are you a bit unsure? On the fence about committing to such a long journey? I want to encourage you! The idea isn’t to feel like a failure if you miss a day (or a week) – the point is to get to know Jesus better throughout this coming year, reinforce our faith, and enjoy meaningful conversation with one another.
This isn’t a contest to see who can get a perfect score. It’s an invitation to gird up the loins of your mind and come out on the other side of 2021 with more faith and more peace – all because you know Jesus better than you do today.
Oh, and just so you know: This isn’t your typical “Bible study” and I’m not the teacher. Oh nooo – we’re all in this together, friends – each of us meeting individually with Jesus and sharing what we gleaned from our time with Him. If you joined me for the 90 day New Testament, you get the idea. Each of us can share as much or as little as we like as we go along. Talkers and lurkers are equally welcome!
I love the story when Jesus meets a woman at the well. Her encounter with Him touched her so deeply that she had to tell people about Him so they could meet Him too. I love what happens next…after they had all spent some time with Jesus:
Then they said to the woman,
“Now we believe, not just because of what you told us,
but because we have heard him ourselves.
Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.”
– John 4:42
So come. And come thirsty. Just like the woman at the well. Let’s meet Jesus there. Let Him teach us. Get to know Him. Hear Him for ourselves. Just like they did.
If you’ve been walking with Jesus for a long time, come.
If you’re just starting your journey, come.
If you’re not sure what you believe, come.
If you’re growing in your faith, come.
If you’ve been away too long, come.
If you’re tired, or thirsty, or scared or anxious, come.
You’re invited. I’d love to have you in the conversation no matter where you’re at.
The fact of the matter is – we’re all in a weird place right now. The world is topsy turvy and if we’re not careful we can slip into fear real fast. But that is not God’s desire for us! He has not given us a spirit of fear! He has given us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind – a mind that is girded up, filled with Truth, and ready to go – so let’s do this!

There are a few different chronological Bibles, but we are reading The Daily Bible (by F. LaGard Smith). It’s available in NLT or NIV. (I like the NLT, but choose what you like.) Each day’s reading is clearly marked with the date and takes about 15 minutes per day.

When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.

Well, hello friend! I'm Connie Bendickson and I'm gathering this group together because I've always wanted to read the Bible in chronological order and I can't think of a better time than 2021.
I love the word of God. I'm a seeker of Truth. I love getting to know Jesus better each day and being in community with others who are doing the same.
Now more than ever, we must learn to trust God. I honestly cannot imagine walking through this season without knowing Jesus.
When fear and anxiety attempt to steal my peace, I go running back to the Word to be reminded of truth.
When the weight of the world starts to get me down, I crank up the worship music.
When sleep evades me, I pray.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of things we do not see. While I am more certain than ever before, I still need time in the Word each day because more than anything else, I want to stand firm and be found faithful when Jesus returns. I believe you do too or you wouldn't be reading this!
If you are ready for a journey through the scroll of scripture with a ragtag band of warriors who are saying, "Yes, I want to know Him better tomorrow than I do today" then you're in the right place.
If God has you getting to know Him with another group of people - I bless you and look forward to our paths crossing another time.
I can't wait to see what He's going to do - in us and through us - as we seek Him together - day by day - in 2021!
Ready to roll? Sign up here - and don't forget to invite a friend!
Questions? Send me a message and I'll get right back to you!
Thank you for getting in touch!
I will get back to you shortly.
Have a great day!
P.S. I want to encourage you to invite your family into this epic adventure too. This is my crew and they are signed up and ready to roll. What will this year bring? I don't know - but whatever it is, it will be far better for all of us to keep our eyes on Jesus together. Who can you invite to join you?
