Our mission is to educate the community on the adverse effects of trauma on the family and the community, to train the community to be impactful advocates against abuse, and to support survivors of survivors of domestic abuse and sexual trauma through their recovery.
A community that is knowledgeable of the impact domestic abuse and sexual trauma has on society as a whole and equipped to aid in the healing and empowerment of survivors.
Become a Building Advocate
We are looking for individuals to partner with us and serve as part of a support team for participants of the Building Forward Program. This program provides resources, support and tools for individuals recovering from abuse and trauma.
Host a Simulation Training
Abuse shows up in different ways. Being able to identify potential signs of abuse in your clients, staff, and friends could be the difference in you being viewed as an ally vs someone that will continue to dismiss the silent cries of those dealing with abuse. What You Don’t See is a domestic violence simulation training offered to groups wanting to learn more about domestic abuse and sexual traumas.
Make a Referral
Individuals that are not in imminent danger have limited resources available to them. Our programs assist individuals outside of the service area for most victim assistance programs. A referral from an ally could be a game changer in a survivor’s recovery and healing.
Volunteer
We are always looking for individuals that want to support the mission. Our volunteers assist with events, administration, and programs. Email volunteer information requested to info@tinabaileyonline.com.
Building Forward Program
This program provides a support team to survivors of domestic abuse and sexual trauma. We partner you with a support team of therapist, coaches, and advocates to help you build a recovery program to prevent relapse and promote healing.
Relate, Relax and Breath
This is a bi-monthly support group focused on providing a safe space for you to get support from your peers as you navigate through your recovery journey. Email us at peers.sistertalknc@gmail.com.
SisterTalk
Finding friends is hard at any stage of life. But participating in structured activities is key to recover and avoiding relapse. Sistertalk is a group of women doing life unapologetically. Activities range from in-person events to virtual events.
Meet Our Founder
Tina Bailey created this nonprofit after walking through her own recovery battle from domestic abuse and sexual trauma. She knows the journey personally. She also knows trauma does not end just because you leave an abusive relationship. With limited resources available for individuals outside of imminent danger, she decided to build a platform that caters to them.
With your help, we can help a survivor rebuild and create a stable foundation to build upon.
