Informal online OT Q&A sessions for parents
WHAT IS IT?
It's a spin off from uni days when professors had office hours and you could turn up with questions, discussions, or just for a chat.
I’ve wanted to create something similar for parents.
Somewhere you can come, we chat (or listen), ask questions, connect
with other parents, and hopefully you leave with a little more clarity,
validation, inspiration, and an idea of a step forward.
Questions, chat and all the tangents. 😁
Anything you’ve been wondering about around your child, including:
Sensory processing
Writing and pencil skills
Fine motor skills
Coordination and motor planning
Emotional regulation
Interoception
Hypermobility
Neurodivergent parenting
Or something completely different.
**You don’t even need to know exactly what your question is.**
Some parents come just to listen, be with other parents, for validation and connection, or to learn.
How to come?
Come with a question.
Come to listen.
Come because you’ve always wanted to chat with an OT.
Come to meet some other parents.
Or just come and hang out for a bit.
Camera on or off.
Talk or stay quiet.
Ask in the chat or just listen.
Come for 10 minutes or stay for the whole thing.
There’s nothing to prepare. Just come as you are.
Pop your email below and I’ll let you know when the next one is on.
Who am I?
I'm Munira Adenwala.
I'm a home ed mum to a teen, and a paediatric Occupational Therapist of 28+ years. We are a neurodivergent family.
I've lived around the world, studied and worked in different countries. I'd say this is one of my strengths to understand, welcome, and support people from varied backgrounds and experiences.
*You are very welcome here as you are.* ❤️
My side gig:
We love cat sitting and have done 38 now. We dream to cat sit around the world.
My joy sparklers:
Currently, as part of my burnout recovery journey, I'm loving getting back into playing my guitar. I'm going down a deep dive with Studio Ghibli finger picking songs.
Oh and feel free to ask me about my indoor plants addiction. 😉
My mission:
For kids (and us grown ups) to be accepted as we are. For kids to be able to be their own awesome selves. To learn the way that works with their brain wiring. For their interests and passions to lead the way. And for us all to be comfortable in our bodies and nervous systems.
*I'd love to meet you at a Can I Just Ask...? session whether it's to ask a question, or to just be with other parents who get it.*
