More About the Chakras

Listen, when I first took Yoga Teacher Training, I felt like the chakras and other yogic teachings were a little too spiritual for me. At some point, I could connect the teachings on a more tangible and grounded plane. I could see how not speaking one's truth blocks the throat chakra, which is connected to the Thyroid gland. When I recognized that our more recent past encourages women, especially mothers, to put themselves last and not speak up, I can see why hypothyroidism is more prevalent in females. I could even see the familial link is likely more environmental than genetic as most mothers unconsciously teach their daughters to do the same.  As I continued to teach, I learned how the chakras are connected to our bodies from the moment of being conceived all the way until our last breath. When the energy in our body is balanced, so are we. Our thoughts are more positive, our bodies are at ease and our spirit is in alignment. Life is easier and things flow.
