Dr Anastasia Dedyukhina

Anastasia is a TEDx speaker, author of ‘Homo Distractus’, and founder of Consciously Digital, a London-based tech-life balance consultancy and digital wellbeing coach academy. Anastasia is a frequent speaker at global conferences, such as GSMA's Mobile World Congress. She has appeared numerous times in the national and international press, including BBC, ITV, Metro, Guardian etc. Her TEDx Talk has been viewed more than 150,000 times on Youtube.

Rubbi Bhogal-Wood

Rubbi is a social media consultant and founder of Wild & Form Digital Ltd. Her mantra is ‘you control social, not the other way around’ and aims to challenge the social media narrative across the Business and Education sectors. She works with Primary and Secondary Schools, Colleges, Finance, Tech, Beauty, HR, Health & Wellbeing, and the Retail sectors to help them use social media intentionally. She did her first TEDx Talk in July 2019 on social media and mental health.

Noel Janis-Norton

Noel Janis-Norton

Noel is a learning and behaviour specialist, parenting advisor, and author of eight books, two of which have been Amazon UK bestsellers. Her latest book, ‘Calmer, Easier, Happier Screen Time’, offers parents much needed practical advice on how to wean children and teens off their screen dependency. By learning and practising the fool-proof methods that Noel has developed over many years of working with families, parents can get back in charge.

Isabelle Delmas

Isabelle Delmas

Isabelle is a mum of 3 and co-founder of Kinfo, an app for parents to share ideas for non-digital entertainment. She used to work in the corporate world, and so had limited quality time to spend with her family. She decided to launch Kinfo together with her husband because they felt frustrated by not having easy access to the wealth of information that parents share spontaneously every day about what is good for their children. Isabelle believes that screen bingeing should not be the only option for kids. 

Paul Levy

Paul Levy

Paul Levy is a writer based in Brighton in the UK, a senior lecturer at the University of Brighton and an associate at the University of Warwick. Paul is the author of Digital Inferno and has been researching the impact of the digital world on our lives for over 15 years. He works with individuals, organisations and communities on how to make the best out of technology. He currently finishing a new book on on How we manage a balance between a digital lives and the natural world we live in.

Week 2: Responsible Tech Usage

Mon, 8th June

Responsible screen usage

What is responsible screen usage? Can you rely on your children and teens to be responsible? What should you warn them about? How and when to have conversations with your children and teens about responsible screen use. Ideas for online activities where children will be safe.

Social media

We'll explore two key ways to help your child best use social media and help contribute to a safer and more empowering digital world. T.H.I.N.K. and W.W.G.S. (What Would Granny Say) are models for encouraging smart, kind, and empowering social media usage. Learn which role models and influencers children should follow.

Can you trust your children?

How to know when you can trust your child or teen to be sensible about screen use. We'll discuss development of children’s brains at different ages and how the ability to control their impulses changes over time. How parents can set up structures to help children and teens learn and practise self-control.

Week 3: Family Time

United front

Does your partner share your values about screen time? In this session we'll discuss how to become a United Front with your partner so that your children take what you both say seriously.

Family time

How to wean children and teens off screen overuse: Family Time, helping your children rediscover enjoyment of many non-screen activities by themselves or with parents.

Virtual reunions

What are the best and healthiest ways to connect with friends and family online? How do we find that healthy balance between physical and digital connection? Explore the quality of your relationships on and offline.

Week 4: Developing Resilience and Other Qualities for the Future

E-learning

Is learning or reading online vs offline different? How can parents help their children to learn better remotely? What to say to your children's school if they want pupils to use iPads for homework.

Independent play

How to teach children of any age to entertain themselves without interrupting parents or using screens: the strategy of Independent Play, its many benefits.

Thu, 25th June

Future proofing

Key qualities your child will need in the next 10 years and how to develop them. Emotional intelligence, adaptability, creativity and resilience in the digital age.
