Fashion Revolution USA is recruiting! We are looking for the following roles for volunteers who can work 5-15 hours per week:

  • Social Media Copywriter
  • Graphic Designer
  • Student Ambassador Coordinator

These positions are short term Volunteer Opportunities, with the possibility of extension. If applying as an internship, college credit must be available through your University. Must be US-based. Deadline for Applications is August 20th at midnight EST.

FR USA is an entirely volunteer-run organization with no paid positions at this time. We are able to accept and encourage individuals who apply through work-study programs or other forms of paid or credit-based learning opportunities.

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR / COPYWRITER 

4 month opportunity, with ability to extend
1 - 2 positions available
Availability: 5 - 10 hours per week

The FR USA Communications team is looking for a talented Social Media Copywriter to join our team. Our copywriter will ideally have professional experience in copywriting and editing, as well as marketing/communications. Our copywriter will also have a working understanding of the Fashion Revolution movement or a willingness to learn about the space. We are looking for someone who is:

  • Detail oriented
  • Skilled in writing and grammar
  • Familiar with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Easily adaptable to a brand voice
  • Efficient and timely
  • Has a pulse on the sustainable fashion industry and emerging key topics and trends

Tasks might include but are not limited to:

  • Working with the communications team to deliver key elements related to social media content including but not limited to: educational material, features, campaigns, and partnerships
  • Writing copy and managing posting for social media channels including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Investigating innovative social media opportunities across the above mentioned social media networks, with aim to provide insights at bi-weekly team meetings
  • Working closely with the Graphic Designer to advise on proactive creative needs
  • Working with the Graphic Designer to create digital content and build out an organized photo library
  • Contributing to website copy and email newsletters
  • Developing templates and basic internal documents
  • Gaining a deeper understanding of how social media plays a vital role in the movements’ success

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

4 month opportunity, with ability to extend
Multiple positions available

Availability: 5 - 10 hours per week

The FR USA Communications team is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to help us with content creation across our digital networks which may include Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, website, and/or email newsletter channels. Our graphic designer will have a working understanding of the Fashion Revolution movement or a willingness to learn about the space. We are looking for someone who is:

  • Creative and can adapt to our branding
  • Experienced in creating social graphics, esp. for Instagram
  • Knowledge of/proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva
  • Has good organization and time management skills

Tasks might include but are not limited to:

  • Creating social graphics for our IG page and other digital networks listed above
  • Creating unique visuals that can be applied to specific topics we cover across our
  • Strategic & Creative Partnerships, Operations, Policy, and Education teams.

STUDENT AMBASSADOR COORDINATOR

8-12 month opportunity with ability to extend
Reports To: USA Director of Education
Availability: 12 - 15 hrs per week

The Fashion Revolution USA Student Ambassador Coordinator leads the national Student Ambassador programs which are essential for the success of our mission to educate and engage people in the US about the social and environmental impact of their clothing purchases so that they demand a more sustainable fashion industry and circular economy for all. Student Ambassadors are also crucial to the continued growth and evolution of the moment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Screen and interview Student Ambassador Candidates.
  • Manage the SA application and onboarding process.
  • Conduct monthly group interviews of SA applicants and notify applicants of their application outcome.
  • Facilitate training, onboarding, and development of Ambassadors.
  • Monitor and manage SA Slack channels and workspaces
  • Maintain a keen understanding of Fashion Revolution’s objectives and initiates to source elite candidates for continued growth with the organization.
  • Maintain alignment and communication with country Directors.
  • Perform quarterly reviews of the program, surveying participates and facilitators.
  • Craft and propose solutions to challenges that are uncovered during quarterly program reviews.
  • Consistently looks for ways to improve the program experience for participants and streamline processes for efficiency.
  • Assist Regional Coordinators with recruitment goals.
  • Mediate conflicts within the program between ambassadors, coordinators, and institutions.
  • Escalate consistent issues to the Director of Education with proposed solutions for approval and rollout.
  • Ensure that SA actions are in compliance with Fashion Revolutions standards and ethics.
  • Support SA Program budget directives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Slack or other workplace collaboration tools is preferred.
  • Extremely organized. You will be managing the intake of applications from across the nation which you need to process, screen, and funnel to the appropriate regional coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Terrific time management. Students and FR employees exist in multiple time-zones and many people have other jobs. You need to be efficient and prompt with meetings and deadlines.
  • Interested in workers rights, the circular economy, and sustainable fashion.
  • Knowledge of the industry and/or experience with other non-profits in the space is preferred.
  • Take initiative. This work is remote and employees are located across the US so you must be able to work independently and not wait for a response to an email or direction for the next task.
  • Has prior experience working in or around a college campus.
