Africa Tabernacle Evangelism
The vision of all African missionaries is to see a healthy church within walking distance of every African. The National Church of Guinea has a vision to plant 500 new churches. They identified over 60 locations currently in need a Tabernacle. Since we arrived last July, together with our team, we have installed 18 Tabs and have plans to construct 10 more by the end of 2026. These will include the countries first ever Kid's Tabs. You can partner with us and the Guinean people through your prayers and giving. Just click on our photo to the right to donate.
Training Pastors
As new churches are planted, it's important to have well trained pastors ready to lead them. The Guinea Bible college is less than an hour from our home. Our team is partnering with them through campus development as well as teaching. In the city, we also have a resource center. We are able to provide local pastors with evangelism and discipleship materials purchased with Light for the Lost funds.
Children's Evangelism
One of the biggest ministries in West Africa is ministering to children. Currently 44% of the population in Guinea is under the age of 15. One Hope is a ministry that allows us to go into the local schools and spread the Good News of the Gospel through short skits and other unique methods. The Guinean National Church also has created a Children's ministry department and Cyndi has been invited to help with planning and training.
Language Learning
French is the most widely spoken universal language in West Africa, and we spent 10 months last term learning to speak basic French. Now we are going deeper with our online tutor and working on our fluency and confidence for preaching and teaching. There are also many local languages we are learning the greetings for. The most common are Pulaar, Susu, and Malinke (this is very close do Mandinka which we learned in The Gambia).
MK (Missionary Kid)- Matthew
Matthew recently shifted to Evangel University after the sudden closing of UVF. He is still studying digital media but now has 2 minor; communications and theology. He feels called to missions and wants to continue spreading the gospel, building the church, and telling the stories of lives transformed.
MK (Missionary Kid)- Abigail
Abigail has graduated High School and is taking a gap year with us in Africa. She feels called to missions and is using this year to intern and explore her calling in context. After a 3 month children's ministry internship in Kenya, she will be working with the National Churches Children's and Youth departments here in Guinea. And of course she will help put up a few more Tabs.
Speed The Light
Speed the Light is an amazing ministry where the youth of our home district partner with us on the field. Because of their generosity, we were able to purchase a vehicle as soon as we arrived in Guinea. It is an unbelievable blessing to have our own vehicle to navigate life and ministry. We are traveling far and wide to spread the Gospel because we have the vehicle to do it. Thank you to every youth pastor and student who invests in this ministry.
