Hello! 

I'm Hannah, and meditation has got me through some of the toughest times. I used to be a constant worrier, completely unable to switch off, and the relentless chatter eventually made my life a misery. I knew I had to try and find a way to quiten my mind, so I tried a meditation class. 

It helped enormously, not just learning how to allow myself to find some inner peace, but because I was joining like minded people. Meditation is much easier in a group, and I'm still friends with people I learned to meditate with many years ago. 


Many of us are struggling to cope at the moment. In my hypnotherapy practice I see people of all ages who feel like they're on the verge of a mental health crisis. They feel fragile, isolated and unable to process their emotions.  I see a need to help build resilience both through meditation and kinship, and that's why I've launched these Quiet Mind meetups. Eventually I'd love to see them running in schools, prisons and hospitals, but let's start here and see where it goes. 

There are so many health benefits that come with meditation, and a small investment now could save you thousands in therapy fees in future! It also cultivates compassion for ourselves and others, and in these turbulent times we could all do with more of that!

This is a shorter lunchtime session which runs from 12.30-1.30 every first Friday. We have 20 minutes of meditation followed by 40 minutes of tea and chats. 

A recording of our meditation will be sent to you afterwards to practice at home. You can even buy your favourite person a session as a gift!

We meet on the first Wednesday evening of every month from 7-8.30pm. We start with 30 minutes meditation followed by 1 hour of tea and chats.

What is Meditation? 

Have you ever done something and then realised you didn't remember doing it? 

Whether you're getting dressed in the morning, or driving a familiar route and forgetting how you got there, it was all driven by your subconscious mind.  Every time you do something automatically, without thinking about it, your brainwaves shift into a meditative state. It's completely normal, and you already know how to do it! You just might not know how to make it work for you yet. 

Focussed meditation is an ancient practice which enables each of us to access our inner peace at any time. There are a number of different forms, and once you get started you'll find that you prefer some to others. In Quiet Mind we alternatate between silent and guided meditations, but we also explore other ways to meditate at home. 

In meditation we start by sitting in a comfortable position and settling into quietness. Allowing ourselves to be quiet means we can become more aware of our thoughts as an observer, rather than becoming caught up in them and letting them affect the way we feel. Instead of trying actively to empty the mind of all thoughts, we simply allow them to come and go. When we allow thoughts to leave, they become much less able to trigger negative emotions, and the mind starts to steady itself.
