Intimate Leadership & Empowered Surrender: a Shibari Intensive is a highly personalized, small-group workshop created for participants desiring a safe and welcoming introduction to ropes while exploring their emotional edges and learning how to confidently take and surrender control.
In the process, participants will learn about themselves through connection to their deepest and most vulnerable core. After all, it is only by releasing control that we can unleash our full potential, and only by stepping into our power can we invite another to give up theirs.
Through a combination of tantric practices, sacred sexuality, and consent- and trauma-informed coaching, this shibari journey will guide you into an altered state of consciousness that allows for your deepest transformation in confidence, self-acceptance, and sexual expression.

This ain't your burn camp's fly-by-night shibari operation!
You'll learn from a world-class practitioner and former pro-domme, gaining the skills to practice shibari confidently, safely, and with a greater awareness of your and your partner's emotional needs in intimacy.
In this intentional container, we don't use words like "top" or "bottom," because "bottoming" for example implies that the receiver has no control. In fact, the receiver holds all the control, and only through humility and deep connection to the receiver can the giver, or the "top," provide the kind of juicy and erotically-charged transformative experience most yearn for.
During this weekend intensive, participants master:
- Single and double column ties
- Using the four elements of flow to create drama
- Specific floor tying positions and their purposes
- Risk mitigation for technical and psychological safety
For givers & riggers:
- Energetic attunement & space holding
- Guiding your partner into safety
- Classic techniques for tying
- Communication skills to establish boundaries and consent

A preview of your SHIBARI IMMERSION
Day ONE
The three-day Intimate Leadership & Empowered Surrender: a Shibari Intensive begins with a beautiful shibari performance (we call these "rope operas") with an experienced model to give you a taste of what will be possible along your shibari journey. We'll follow with a round of introductions, set intentions for our workshop the next day, and close with a brief exercise to pique your curiosity.
Day TWO
We'll open the container on Saturday morning with a thorough immersion into critical components of consent, psychological and technical safety, and non-verbal communication. No shibari (or any sort of power exchange or BDSM scene) can safely be performed without these crucial elements -- let alone be an enjoyable experience for you or your partner! So we won't cut any corners in training you to become a confident and trustworthy erotic leader as well as a communicative and reliable receiver.
Following these fundamentals, we will practice beginner shibari techniques the rest of the day. We will break for lunch, during which we'll cover cognitive concepts such as energy exchange, providing provocation and pattern breaks, and stepping into vulnerability and connection. Dinner will be followed by reflections, Q&A, and an optional social activity -- if participants are up for it after so much intense training!
Feel free to take breaks whenever you need them and hydrate frequently. Much like yoga, shibari is your practice, so take care of yourself.
Day THREE
Sunday begins with a brief shibari exercise focused on learning to provide aftercare as both the giver and receiver. We will also explore techniques for integration of peak experiences, so that the emotional portal you open through ropes remains accessible during your future explorations. We will close with reflections over shared lunch.

Your instructor, RINA TREVI
Rina is Austin's premier shibari instructor. A former professional dominatrix with twelve years' experience working with elite New York City clients, Rina has now redirected her conscious kink career toward providing vulnerability journeys through rope.
Tying together eleven years of tantric bodywork and meditation practices in Asia, Rina studies and performs shibari with the most celebrated masters in Japan and across the United States.
A University of Maryland MBA graduate, certified death doula, and NLP and trauma-informed hypnotherapy practitioner, Rina combines her breadth of knowledge across somatic, spiritual, and sexual disciplines toward an utterly unique shibari modality that invites clients to access their deepest self-discovery and spiritual illumination.
A freediver, BASE jumper, skydiver, student of ancient traditions, and self-described intrepid explorer of consciousness, Rina is also the creator of Underline | World, an online tantric immersion course, and appears frequently on podcasts for her work in vulnerability coaching and sacred sexuality.

Common QUESTIONS
Do I need a partner?
You can come alone or with a partner.
Do I need any equipment?
No, your facilitators will provide all materials. You may wish to bring a journal and pen.
What about my attire?
Dress for comfort and freedom of movement, but avoid loose clothing. Leggings work wonderfully. Once you sign up, your facilitators will be in touch with further instructions.
What will this weekend entail?
You'll enjoy a beautiful theatrical performance before breaking into sessions to practice both providing and receiving while diving deeper into intimacy, awareness, and vulnerability in ways that will support your confident expansion in heart, mind, body.
Are meals provided?
We provide delicious snacks and refreshments (chips & dips & fruits).
What experience do I need?
This intensive assumes no prior knowledge of shibari, kink, or BDSM. You will be provided the introductory techniques you'll need to begin your own explorations, whether that's shibari or beyond.
