After a 20+ year career as a highly respected inclusion teacher, learning specialist, and teacher-leader, Tricia founded Rare Bird Learning, LLC which provides coaching to teeenage and college students to help them gain independence, confidence, and success by providing them with tools and systems that support their Executive Functioning and their happiness.
Tricia recently signed a publishing deal for a book she created to share her unique approach that combines the field of executive functioning with the science of happiness. Her approach has been featured on the Epic Dad Podcast and the Impact Summit for Online Tutors. To her great delight, this approach has proven to work with adults as well!

Tricia lives in a sweet 1920's craftsman bungalow in Atlanta, GA. When she's not reading, writing, and coaching for work and doing the bare minimum to be a responsible adult and parent, she doubles down on cottage core and uses her other super strength as an expert daydreamer to imagine she lives in a quaint country village and writes fiction.

We will work together to prioritize and personalize systems that work according to your unique desires, needs, and circumstances.
Typically, our work will cover these areas and usually in this order. But, if we need to spend more time in one area than another, my approach is flexible to allow for that.
*Sometimes that “solution” is to give yourself and others plenty of grace, acceptance, and self-care for being a human in systems that aren’t in alignment with the nature of our identity, abilities, identity, or values.
No matter what your specific focus, your session will always include the following aspects:
The beginning of the session gives you a supportive and safe space to brain dump about what worked and didn't since we talked last. We will follow up on where we left off, catch up on what worked and what didn't since we last talked. If you need some structure, I have tools at the ready so you can do this clearly and effectively to help you release the mind clutter so we can pick through it and best organize our priorities for the session.
Here we brainstorm, collaborate, and get creative about systems, routines, and next steps to help you move towards goals we have clarified. You bring your expertise on your circumstances what works best for you and I bring some exercises and tools that have been proven to work in the past for people with similar goals and circumstances. Together we shape it up into a plan of action you feel clear and confident about.
Towards the end of each session, we will look ahead at potential obstacles that could get in your way and make sure you have your go-to support systems in place so your plan is easier and more likely to stick.
I believe that the small things are the big things, so most of our work won’t be about taking drastic, massive, sweeping changes. Instead, we will come up with small, but mighty one degree turns that are much easier to integrate into your life but that make a big difference in how you feel and your effectiveness at reaching your goals or something even better.

6 45-55 minute sessions. It is recommended that sessions take place weekly, but may be spread out if necessary over the course of 3 months.
