MORE ABOUT THE DARKWOOD BOOKS...
The Tales of Darkwood is a completed series of five books, plus a novella. They are low fantasy, set in 1450s Medieval Europe. There is a whiff of both magic and romance in them, a backdrop for the journey the characters take. A connecting story arc involving an evil magic user and a blood curse winds through all the books, coming to a very satisfying stopping point in "Blood to Bind." Each book is a twist or riff on a popular Grimms fairytale as well as being a continuation of the main story.
The chronological order of the books is: Witch of Darkwood, The Traveller's Tale, The Twins of Darkwood, On the Patrin Path, Starcrossed of Darkwood, and Blood to Bind. All are available at Amazon and on KU.
I'm a dog lover, swimmer, and a baker. I wrote plays and screenplays for a long time before losing everything in a massive house fire made me rethink everything, and I thought "why wait?" Why wait to do what you really love? Now, I write "real books." My original inspirations include Susan Cooper, JRR Tolkien, and Madeleine L'Engle. These days I'm enjoying V.E. Schwab, Leigh Bardugo, Jay Kristoff, Garth Nix, Brandon Sanderson, and Laurie Forest. As a lover of two other wonderful writers who've gotten stuck... I hereby promise to finish my series in a timely manner.
I also write in two other genres. Post Apocalyptic with Mike Krause. I've completed two 6-book series, "Dawn of Ruin" and "Nowhere to Turn." I take breathers by writing delicious, sweet, small-town romance as Christy Winn.

Besides the Tales of Darkwood, I wrote a true account of how Keisha, our beloved rescue dog, saved us from a condo fire. People tell me it's helped them get through all sorts of things. Lots of tasty recipes in there too. Half of all proceeds from this book are donated to animal shelters and rescues.
