MORE AMERICANS SET UP ESTATE PLANS SINCE START OF PANDEMIC
Though the pandemic has increased awareness of estate planning, only 33.1% of Americans have a will, up just one percentage point since the beginning of the pandemic, according to a recent U.S. survey. There has been an increased awareness in certain demographics – for example, there has been an 50% increase in the number of Americans between the ages 18 – 34 who have obtained estate planning documentation since the start of the pandemic. Further, individuals who had a serious case of COVID are 66% more likely to have a will than those who haven’t.
