NOT-Back-to-School Masterclass: Find your next step!

You don’t need a perfect school plan. You need to know what matters most right now.

If the back-to-school season has you feeling overwhelmed, behind, or even a little heartbroken because your child’s education doesn’t look like everyone else’s, this Masterclass is for you.

Together, we’ll step away from the pressure to recreate a traditional school day and use a simple process to figure out what actually makes sense for YOUR nonspeaking or unreliably speaking student, YOUR family, and YOUR real life.

In this interactive Masterclass, you’ll:

  • Discover what you’re already doing that absolutely counts as education.
  • Identify what your child and family need most right now.
  • Explore the possibilities for learning, communication, movement, daily living, community experiences, and more.
  • Choose ONE priority instead of trying to do everything.
  • Create a simple, realistic next step you can actually try this fall.

No curriculum shopping.

No giant master plan.

No trying to do everything.

Just a clear direction for where to start.

WHAT IF YOU STOPPED ASKING: “WHAT SHOULD WE BE DOING?”

Back-to-school season can make it seem like everyone else has a plan.

New curriculum.

New schedules.

New goals.

New routines.

And maybe you’re looking at all of it and thinking:

“Am I doing enough?”

“Is my child falling behind?”

“What is education even supposed to look like for my child?”

“How do I fit all of this into our actual life?”

Especially when your child may need significant support throughout the day, there may already be a hundred things competing for your attention.

Spelling.

Supervision.

Daily living skills.

Appointments.

Meals.

Siblings.

Work.

Rest. (What's that??)

Family life.

So the idea of adding a perfectly structured “school day” on top of everything else can feel completely impossible.

But here’s what I want you to consider:

Maybe you don’t need to fit school into your life.

Maybe your child’s education can be built around your life.

That’s the shift we’re going to make together.

THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL HOMESCHOOL PLANNING MASTERCLASS

I’m not going to hand you a giant checklist and tell you everything your child needs to be doing this year.

I’m not going to tell you which curriculum you should buy.

I’m not going to tell you how many hours you should spend at the table.

And I’m definitely not going to tell you that a successful educational day has to look like someone else’s.

Instead, we’re going to start with a much more important question:

What does your child and family need most right now?

Because the answer will be different for every family.

One family may need to focus on communication.

Another may need to create more opportunities for movement.

Another may need to build independence through everyday routines.

Another may need more connection and community.

Another may simply be in a season where survival and sustainability have to come before adding anything new.

There is no one right answer.

The goal is to figure out YOUR answer.

WHAT IS THE GIFT FRAMEWORK?

The GIFT Framework is the simple process we’ll use throughout the Masterclass to help you figure out what to do next.

G — GET OUT OF SCHOOL

Step back from the assumption that education has to look like traditional school.

I — IDENTIFY

Look honestly at your child, your family, and your current season.

What is challenging you most?

Who needs the most support?

What does your family need right now?

F — FIND THE POSSIBILITIES

Once you know what matters, we’ll explore what’s possible.

You’ll look at the things you’re already doing and brainstorm simple ways to build on them.

T — TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Then you’ll choose ONE priority and turn it into something concrete you can actually try.

Because you don’t need to know exactly what your child’s education will look like five years from now.

You need to know what you’re going to try next.

YOU MAY BE DOING MORE THAN YOU REALIZE

One of the most powerful parts of this process is realizing how much education is already happening in your ordinary day.

The conversations you have.

The books you read.

The errands you run.

The meals you prepare.

The skills your child practices.

The movement built into your day.

The opportunities for communication.

The experiences you have in your community.

The routines and habits you’re building.

The time you spend exploring your child’s interests.

The safe, unstructured time and rest that allow your child to regulate and engage with the world.

It all matters.

You may walk into this Masterclass thinking:

“I need to figure out how to homeschool.”

And walk away thinking:

“Wait. We’re already doing so much.”

That shift matters.

Because we’re not starting from zero.

We’re starting from what is already working.

WHAT YOU’LL DO DURING THE MASTERCLASS

This isn’t a Masterclass where you sit quietly and take notes for two hours.

Bring your pen, the provided guide, and your thinking cap.

You’re going to WORK through the process.

PART 1: GET OUT OF SCHOOL

We’ll start by letting go of the pressure to recreate traditional school at home.

You’ll learn how to look at education through a different lens.

PART 2: IDENTIFY YOUR FAMILY’S REALITY

We’ll look at what’s actually happening in your life right now.

You’ll consider your child’s needs, your family’s needs, and the season you’re currently in.

PART 3: FIND THE POSSIBILITIES

We’ll brainstorm what’s possible across five important areas or building blocks:

  1. Talk to Them: aka PRESUME COMPETENCE
  2. Health & Habits: Education isn't just about "academics".
  3. Exploring the World: Our children deserve to be included and so do we!
  4. Motor, Motor, Motor! The most essential and most challenging area.
  5. And YOU: Because let's me honest - are you actually taking care of yourself?

You’ll also identify the things you’re already doing.

PART 4: CHOOSE YOUR PRIORITY

You will NOT leave with a list of 25 things you need to start doing.

You’ll choose ONE priority.

The one that makes the most sense for your family right now.

PART 5: TAKE THE NEXT STEP

We’ll turn that priority into a simple plan.

What will you try?

What might you stop or reduce?

When will you do it?

Who can support you?

How will you know whether it’s working?

PART 6: TRY

Your plan doesn’t have to be perfect.

It’s an experiment.

You’ll learn how to treat what happens next as information rather than as proof that you failed.

BY THE END OF OUR TIME TOGETHER, YOU’LL HAVE…

A CLEARER PICTURE OF WHAT YOU’RE ALREADY DOING

Instead of focusing on everything you think you’re missing, you’ll learn to recognize the educational opportunities already woven into your life.

A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT MATTERS MOST RIGHT NOW

You’ll have a way to step back from all the possibilities and identify your family’s current priority.

A LIST OF POSSIBILITIES

You’ll explore practical ways to support learning, communication, movement, independence, health, connection, and engagement.

ONE PRIORITY

Instead of trying to do everything, you’ll choose the one thing that makes the most sense to focus on right now.

A CONCRETE NEXT STEP

You’ll leave knowing what you’re going to try.

Not someday.

Not “when life calms down.”

A real next step you can take into your everyday life.

MORE CONFIDENCE IN YOUR DIRECTION

You may not have your entire educational journey figured out.

And that’s okay.

You’ll have something more useful:

A way to figure out what comes next.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF…

  • You’re educating a nonspeaker or unreliable speaker and feel unsure about what your educational days should look like.
  • You feel overwhelmed by all the advice, resources, and expectations coming at you.
  • You worry that your child is falling behind.
  • You compare your family to what you see other families doing.
  • You feel like you should be doing more, but you don’t know what “more” should actually look like.
  • Your child’s needs make a traditional school schedule difficult or unrealistic.
  • You want education to be meaningful without taking over your entire family life.
  • You’re already doing a lot but have trouble recognizing it as education.
  • You want a simple way to decide what to focus on next.
  • You don’t want another giant plan.
  • You want clarity.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF…

  • You’re looking for a specific curriculum recommendation.
  • You want a traditional grade-level homeschool schedule.
  • You want someone to tell you exactly what subjects your child should complete every day.
  • You’re looking for a one-size-fits-all educational plan.
  • That’s not what we’re doing here.
  • We’re going to help you build a direction that makes sense for YOUR child and YOUR family.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO FIGURE IT ALL OUT THIS FALL

Here’s what I hope you remember when you leave this Masterclass:

You don’t need to know exactly where you’re going five years from now.

You don’t need the perfect curriculum.

You don’t need a beautiful schedule.

You don’t need to recreate school.

And you don’t need to do everything.

You need to understand where you are.

Identify what matters most.

Look at what’s possible.

Choose one thing.

And take the next step.

Then you can reassess.

And choose your next step again.

That’s the power of the GIFT Framework.

Education doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful-

It just needs to work for your child, your family, and your real life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to homeschool to benefit from this?

No.

The GIFT Framework is about thinking differently about your child’s education and identifying meaningful next steps that fit your family.

Whether you’re homeschooling, navigating another educational setting, combining approaches, or still figuring out what path makes sense, the process can help you think through what’s possible.

Is this only for parents of nonspeakers?

The Masterclass is specifically designed around the experiences and needs of families educating nonspeaking and unreliable-speaking children who are learning to communicate through letterboards and keyboards.

Do I need to have my child’s educational plan figured out before I come?

Absolutely not.

That’s why you’re coming.

You don’t need a plan.

You need a place to start.

Will you tell me what curriculum to use?

No.

This isn’t a curriculum-selection Masterclass.

We’re going to focus on your child’s needs, your family’s reality, and how to determine your next step.

What if we’re already doing a lot?

That’s actually one of the reasons I think you’ll benefit.

One of the first things we’ll do is identify what you’re already doing.

You may discover that you are doing much more than you realized.

What if I don’t know what my priority should be?

That’s exactly what we’ll work through together.

The GIFT process is designed to help you move from “I don’t know what to do” to identifying one manageable next step.

How long is the Masterclass?

Plan for approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours.

Bring your guide, a pen, and your thinking cap.

What if I can’t attend live?

This call will be recorded and the replay will be emailed to all registered attendees!

Is this just another webinar where you’re going to sell me something?

No.

The purpose of this Masterclass is for you to leave with clarity and a concrete next step.

At the end, I’ll share how you can continue getting support if that’s something you’re interested in, but you do not need to purchase anything else to benefit from the Masterclass.

READY TO STOP TRYING TO RECREATE SCHOOL?

You don’t need another reminder of everything you’re “supposed” to be doing.

You need a way to figure out what matters most for YOUR family.

Let’s find your next step together.
