No matter where you are in the world, the end of June marks the end of the first half of the calendar year, so it’s a time to reflect on the year thus far. As we wave goodbye to the first six months, reflection should be a practice you incorporate into your daily life, both from a personal perspective and professional element, especially after the changes the world endured the past couple of years.
In our internationally focused, post-pandemic society, online meetings are here to stay. Nevertheless, face-to-face meetings are coming back. In both situations, it is important to create an atmosphere of trust and safety.
During this month’s Online Networking with a SPIN event we will focus on how to communicate with prospects, managers and your team in a warm and confident way. To shed some light on this subject, our Spinner Adda van Zanden will share some insights on how to emit leadership presence in off and online meetings. In turn, you can easily implement positive signals that are essential for trust and maximum impact.

What is the Online Networking with a SPIN event?
Every first Thursday of the month Spin Ideas hosts the Online Networking with a SPIN, an event where we network and connect. You will have the chance to meet new and old friends from all over the world.
In case you are brand new to our ONS events, here is what you can look forward to:
- Our one-of-a-kind SPIN: You can ask us to invite a person you cannot reach via the usual channels. Our team will gladly reach out to them and do our best to convince them to join the event and connect with you.
- One hour of networking.
- No speaker, no online course, just good and meaningful networking to help you meet new potential business partners, clients, and all-around exciting people.
- Our topics and tips are interesting and fun and rotate monthly. We bring in one of our Spinner Experts to share useful tips on the designated theme.
We have joined forces with Zebras Unite Amsterdam Chapter to bring together even more interesting people and learn about new business methods and trends.
MEET OUR EXPERT:
Adda van Zanden
Adda is a leadership consultant and facilitator(Leeuwendaal, Ministry of Infrastructure, RABO), a creative thinking and storytelling expert(LEF Futurecenter,TEDx), and a professionally trained actress who works with the voice and body language techniques of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
The Online networking with SPIN event is a remarkable opportunity to meet various people online without the hassle of leaving your home. It is nice to have a break and talk to people about their work/life experiences. This gives me a boost of energy as I learn more about what's new or what I can change for myself and in my own environment.
How we are spinning it:
- We will all meet via Zoom and use the breakout rooms to engage in a series of 15-minute networking sessions.This means we all get the time to really connect and meet new people.
- We challenge you to focus on the message you want to pass on.
- Be curious and think out of the box!
- Make sure to have your camera and mic on: we want to see and hear you.
- We encourage you to list your name and location when you log in. This is a great conversation starter!
- Be open to meeting new people and have fun.
