About Melissa Kay Moore
Melissa Kay Moore, a Texas native, is a graduate from Texas State University. She grew up in Brownsville near South Padre Island and lives in San Antonio with her family.
Melissa founded Adventures Publishing and has published "What's Emoji?", "Where's Emoji?", and "How's Emoji?" books in her playful, educational "My First Emojis" children's book series. The books promote literacy to help teach children to read with a fun, simple kind of rebus using emojis. She plans to publish many more books in this fun and clever series.
Melissa loves the ocean and supports several foundations helping to save our oceans from plastic pollution. She in collaboration with Christine Figgener, PhD, Marine Conservation Biologist and Director of Science and Education for Footprint Foundation bring you "Poppy's Purpose to Prevent Pollution" the first book in the "Footprint" children's book series. Melissa plans to publish more environmental children's books to educate and raise awareness in this important and timely series.
Being a mother and grandmother inspires Melissa to write; but most importantly, it's fulfilling a dream driving her passion and is enjoying where this adventure leads.
