Juneta is the BOMB! Every time I talk to her about my work-in-progress she whips it into shape. Not by doing the work for me, but by asking the exact right question so that I can see the path for my work. We call her the velvet hammer and if you work with her for half an hour, you’ll know why!

Working with Juneta is the best decision I have ever made in my writing career. Not only has she helped me develop a solid story for my new novel and series, but she also sprinkles in useful and down to earth writing teaching. I will not write another word without Juneta as my coach.
Juneta Key is a great writing coach. As a new fiction writer, I was scared to start my first short story, but Juneta patiently explained how to build a story, how to show not tell, and she guided me to reach for my best work. She generously shares her extensive writing experience and is an exceptional listener. She’s also a whiz with WordPress, Canva, and Social Media. I highly recommend all of Juneta Key’s services.
Visual creative forever – typographer, graphic designer, fine artist, and jewelry designer.
Juneta asks the hard questions. She's helped me get to the heart of what's wrong with a scene. Plus she's great at helping dig down into what is really needed to get done. If you need some accountability, she's your gal for that, too! Actually, she wears so many hats, no matter where you are in your writer's journey, she'll be able to help you on your way.
I had decided to start writing fiction again, after being stuck for years. But I found I just couldn't pick one story to work on. I kept abandoning each one and coming up with new ideas. Juneta Key held my feet to the fire, made me choose one world to work on, and helped me plot three books in that world and possibly a fourth! She knows just about all there is about plotting, story development, and world building. I highly recommend Juneta Key to anyone who needs accountability and expert story development coaching.

I was fortunate to work with Juneta as a developmental editor with the first draft of a novel I had written. She walked me through the manuscript with an emphasis on the plot. She helped me see some significant plot holes that were in the text. Ultimately, I believe she helped me create a much stronger manuscript ready to submit to agents soon. Juneta is terrific at asking the right questions to help you figure out issues in your novel without being prescriptive and telling you what to do. I think this organic method makes writing easier and helps you, as an author, own the work and the developmental editing process. I would highly recommend any author to work with Juneta for your developmental editing needs.

My writing style is pantser by nature. I always have key points in my story but have trouble writing enough scenes between them. I am also tired of losing 4000-6000 words of already-written-text when I explain my story to a fellow writer and realize what was written wasn’t the effect I was after. I decided I would hire someone for story development to help me out and see if my writing flowed any better or any easier. I still have a lot to learn, but Juneta Key has helped me plot my current novel, and we are working on creating a three-book fantasy series. She asks me all the right questions and keeps asking them until our ideas gel. It has always been easier for me to bounce ideas off someone else than to try and come up with ideas on my own. I plan on hiring her for the different books I have lined up.
I’m not a pantser. When I started working with Juneta I’d already rigorously studied and applied the five key plot points. I’d read books, taken classes, etc. In working with Juneta I realized things about my story that I hadn’t recognized, issues with pacing and tension, plot points that didn’t make sense. It was a pleasure to work with her and I would certainly do it again for future books.

"You know, the best thing about being a writer is you don't have to make excuses for pretending. It's part of the job. Where do all the stories come from? I believe it is the human condition that makes us all heroes and villains, saints or monsters. Life is the mythology of living that creates the stories of our lives and imaginations." ~Juneta
