SEC WILL NOT STOP PAYMENT FOR ORDER FLOW
According to a report in Bloomberg, the SEC will not seek to ban payment for order flow for brokerages, although the regulator may impose changes that reduce the practice’s profitability. SEC Chair Gensler had cited the practice as a lack of transparency in markets. He also said in recent Congressional testimony that the SEC will look for ways to freshen up rules to make equity markets as fair, efficient, and competitive as possible for investors, particularly for retail investors.
