What are you saying...to yourself?

Self talk. We do it every day.

  • "That driver is crazy! They just cut me off!"
  • "He must be mad at me. Why hasn't he responded to my text?"
  • "What did I do wrong?"

We talk to ourselves all the time without giving it a second thought.


We even say things to ourselves—about ourselves.

How we look:

"I'm so fat. If I could just lose 15 lbs. I would be prettier."

Comparing to others:

"I'm not as a good a mom as she is."

Self doubt:

"I could never do that, even though I'd really like to."

The problem is, that these thoughts are causing you to be anxious, fearful, disappointed, and overwhelmed.

These thoughts steal from you every day.

Several years ago I had my iPhone stolen out of my purse. I thought it was in a safe place—in my office inside the building that I worked.

Not only did I have to do a lot of work to stop the robber from stealing more from me—I felt violated, unsafe, and a little helpless.

Negative self talk does the same thing.

It is sneaky. It is ruthless. It steals, kills, and destroys.

But, it doesn't have to be that way.
