All About That Place 2024

Put Your Ancestors in Their Place!

All About That Place is back! Join the family and local history virtual event of the year, taking place from Friday 27th September to Sunday 6th October 2024.

Last year we helped participants to start One-Place studies. This year we will be helping them to 'put their ancestors in their place', both in terms of location and context.

Piloting in 2023, the event hit social media with a bang and creating an immediate buzz. It garnered large audiences, with 28,900 video views on YouTube alone and 600,000 impressions! 718 people subscribed to the YouTube Channel, 1,878 individuals joined the pop-up Facebook Group and 1,450 individuals joined SoG’s email mailing list to follow daily updates on the event.

But I missed 2023...what exactly is All About That Place.

It's a virtual event broadcast over social media, consisting of very short (c.10 minute talks) on a plethora of subjects and supported by an interactive workbook of tasks and activities. Open to all members of the public, All About That Place is more than just a conference, it's a community and our Speakers are an integral part of it.
