Chinese medicine teaches us to live in harmony with the seasons, and according to Chinese medicine theory, each season has many areas which help us to change our habits as the seasons change so that we can create more balance between our bodies and our external environment.
Spring represents new beginnings, creativity, inspired ways of being and living. It is the time to plan and make things come to fruition through our thoughts, ideas and actions. It is a time of manifestation and dreaming big and trusting that we can overcome any obstacles as we move from a place of inner balance and harmony.
The transitions between the seasons are when we are at the most risk of imbalances in our energy. Which is why I invite you in the build up to the new season of Spring, to join me in a beautiful practice designed to inspire your ability to go with flow, get creative, let go of all obstacles as we enable ourselves to move forward with a sense of ease and purpose.
Spring in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is associated with the Liver & Gallbladder which is where our focus lies. You can see from the photos above the body areas that our practice will work deeply into through long held nourishing shapes and practices designed to support your return to centre and abundance.
We will explore the emotional energy, the physical benefits, mental and energetic qualities of this beautiful partnership and new season.
The Spring energy invites you to embrace this new beginning. Nature is waking up and being reborn around us, and we have the power after a winter of rest, slow living and self reflection to get clearer on what we want and need. The spring energy will fuel your growth as the days get longer & the sun grows warmer. It is the time to come alive, to grow and flourish. Together we will invite a sense of balance and ease, mentally and physically
Liver chi co-ordinates and regulates the movement of chi everywhere within us, and is responsible for creating a calming inner atmosphere. Imbalances can see us with a fiery temper and mood! When our liver and gallbladder are in balance we can overcome any obstacles with ease, using our focus and sense of purpose to keep making steps in the direction of our dharma.
Yoga Teachers & Practitioners
You might be a Yoga Teacher who is curious to learn more about Yin Yoga as a practice, and how to weave in the elements of TCM and Chinese Meridians into your own teachings.
Most likely a yogi who wants to find centre as we move into this powerful transition phase. Enjoy a beautiful empowered and releasing practice to awaken spaciousness and an ability to draw in what you need, let go of what you don't as you get tune into your goals and aspirations for the year ahead.
2 HOURS OF NURTURING YIN YOGA PRACTICE
We will enjoy two full hours of creating a nourishing and safe space in which to unwind, release, manifest, create and explore our deeper inner selves through a handful of shapes that stimulate the Liver and Gallbladder meridian lines. The practice includes breathing, mindfulness and the practice of Yin.
DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TCM?
No need for previous knowledge. I will be sharing with you insights about TCM, the season of Spring according to TCM, the energetic benefits of the practice, techniques that allow us to explore the full range of the practice both mentally and physically.
I HAVE NEVER DONE YIN YOGA BEFORE, IS THAT OK?
I love teaching yogis their first Yin Yoga class so it would be my pleasure to have you join me on this journey. If you have any injuries or are pregnant, please send me a private message in response to our welcome email to let me know so I can modify for you.
