Did you know that sugar is more addictive than cocaine? It's also part of our everyday lives. When we celebrate we reach for sugar. When we commiserate we drown our sorrows in sugar. We use it to reward both ourselves and our children. And it’s extremely hard to give up!

As well as being highly inflammatory to the body, sugar causes cravings and weight gain, feeds pathogens and depletes nutrients. It also contributes to conditions such as autoimmune disease, cancer, diabetes and much more.

However it IS possible to enjoy the foods that make us happy, without the risk of blood sugar spikes and inflammation.

In this workshop you will learn

  • What sugar really does to the body
  • How to get off the sugar rollercoaster
  • The many names of sugar
  • How manufacturers get around disclosing sugar on product labels
  • Which are the best choices of sweeteners
  • How to make treats without using any refined sugars

Spend the morning with

  • Q&A sessions
  • Cooking demonstrations of healthy, guilt-free treats you can easily make at home
  • Making sugar-free treats of your own
  • Sampling treats that are quick, easy and affordable to make at home, and won't cause inflammation in the process

We'll be sampling delicious sugar-free treats such as

  • gluten-free, dairy-free cake (yes it can be done)
  • fruit panna cotta
  • handmade chocolate or carob bars (several different flavours)
  • quick, healthy ice creams (different options)

You'll have the opportunity to make

  • raw date and orange bars
  • ice cream kombucha floats

You will end the session with recipes and homemade treats to take home. However more than that, you will have the knowledge of how to reduce your cravings, blood sugar levels and overall inflammation.

This event is suitable for those on anti-inflammatory, gluten-free, dairy-free, AIP, Paleo and plant-based diets.
