think tank gathering
is an active collegial exchange format to find our way through the digital jungle, learn from each others insights and search outs. We will meet on Zoom to brainstorm, for trials, experiments and researchers.
You are welcome
as an active participant or as an active co-creator of the event.
COVID CLOSED OUR THATER PLACE — and now?
As we miss the magic between audience and artist that usually arises while sharing the same space, same atmosphere and while feeling other beings around us, we have to give it up during the pandemic restrictions.
Many of us relay on post produced material from the past or stream pieces which are designed for stage with live audience. But does this really work for virtual space?
In our view we would say no.
social media engagement
We have to think the core points, the value of our genre in a new way. How can we create the unspoken magic in a digital surrounding? How can we keep the audience’s attention? And what do we have to change because the principals on Screen are different from a 3-dimensional stage? What do we have to consider that our branch can convince in a virtual environment? We can play games with the audience, use interactive applications, share intimate spaces or go backstage. The number of possibilities are almost endless …
TOOLS NEED TO BECOME FAMILIAR — what exists, what suits for performative live performance, how to use it?
We need to know different provider platforms (like Zoom, Twitch, Facebook, Telegram), tools (Background, Greenscreen, augmented reality) and apply digital settings in the way that they support us in creating.
WE NEED TO CREATE RELATIONSHIP
We look at regularities for attention and attention span, grades of passive and active participation (before, during and after the performance) applied on individual, interactive and influencing participation options. We create time/space portals, explore, how we can create intimacy and connection. The possibilities in virtual world are rich and variable.
WE NEED A PLAYGROUND TO APPLY
Parallel to the think tank gathering we offer a monthly VIRTUAL JAM — play & reflect. This open improvisation platform within a set topic feed us for the upcoming think tank gatherings and the think tank gatherings prepares us with tools and strategies for being ready for instant performing in virtual surrounding.
