Foreword by Matt Par

A few years ago I was a depressed 14-year-old
wondering what I was going to do with my life. 

 

I was being pressured by my teachers and parents to go to college after I was finished with high school and I often wondered if this was the meaning of life. 

 

To go to college (which I didn’t want to do) then go work in a 9-5 job for the rest of my life.  

 

I hated hearing the alarm clock every morning and dreaded going to school everyday. I didn’t have many friends and just wanted to do something worthwhile.

 

But amongst all this, I knew one thing. I knew I
didn’t want to work in a corporate job for the rest of my life. And I knew this was possible because I saw people on YouTube making full time incomes, being  able to travel the world, and being able to live life on their own terms.

 

I knew I wanted to do YouTube, but at the time I
didn’t know how. I had a channel where I just
upload random videos with my friends, backyard
stunts, and gaming videos. If I was lucky I would get
100 views on a video.

 

That was until I came across a channel called
“Top5s” which made top 5 countdown videos. The
videos seemed so simple to make: they were
literally just a voice over on top of other peoples’
videos.

 

You know what I did? I took this really crappy
iPhone I had at the time and recorded voice overs
with my high pitched voice and I edited the videos
together on my computer. I uploaded new videos
everyday for months until one day I woke up to find
one of my videos having over 100,000 views on it. I
remember showing everyone on my school bus that day.

 

From then on, YouTube became like a game for me.
While all my friends were playing video games I was
playing the game of YouTube. I did tests to see what
worked and what didn’t and I doubled down on what worked.

 

Up until this point I didn’t even know you could make money on YouTube until I came across an article showing how much the top YouTube channels make. I was amazed that a channel called Ryan’s Toy Review that was a 4 year old reviewing toys made over $10 million dollars in a single year. 

I did some research into how this works and I found that you can join the YouTube partner program and YouTube will put ads on your videos and you will make a percentage of the advertisement revenue.

 

I turned on monetization on my channel and it was like flipping a switch. Within 30 days I was making $3,000 a month. To a teenager in high school, this was like millions of dollars. I had never made so much money in my life.

 

Even though things were going good, I could only
make and upload so many videos myself so I
decided to hire someone to make the videos for me
from an online freelancing website. This worked so
well that I now had time to start more channels in
different niches.

 

That brings me to today where I run 9 different
YouTube channels and make over $30,000 a month
from then from just ad revenue and over $100,000 a
month from other revenue sources. I’ve also got the
gold play button from youTube for hitting over 1
million subscribers on one of my channels.
By telling you this, I don’t mean to brag. 

 

My intention is to show you what's truly possible with YouTube. 

Now I’m not saying that if you upload
random videos that you will get these types of
results, but what I am saying is that with Apollo’s
book you’re going to discover some of the same
tactics I use as well as all of my students to grow
profitable YouTube channels from scratch.

 

In my opinion, YouTube is the number one business
model on the internet and it has completely
transformed my life. My hope is that it can
transform yours too. If a broke high schooler can
succeed on YouTube, I truly believe that anyone can.
