Come on a journey with me. ✈️

Imagine you’re in a busy airport. People are whizzing by, left and right, unencumbered with their sleek suitcases that glide effortlessly across the shiny floor.

But not you.

You, my friend, are holding too many bags. And they are dragging you behind as you try to make it to the gate for your proverbial flight forward in life.

Slowly, you let go of a bag. Ahhh.

Stretch your neck a little, let your shoulders drop. Relax. Let go of another. Let go of the one that’s so heavy on your back that it's causing you to hunch forward, fighting against the tension.

Take a breath. That spot in your lower back is still tender, but there’s so much relief. Now, drop the one you’ve been pulling along beside you—so heavy you’ve been stopping every few minutes to rest. What did you even pack?

Drop. Them. All.

Suddenly you realize, you don’t need this shit where you’re going! In fact, your luggage was so far past the size and weight limit they wouldn’t have even let you on the plane! You’d have put yourself and everyone around you in danger of crashing.

You’d never do that!

And yet, you walk through life with all of your baggage. Your body aches, and you hobble along like that for so long that you eventually crash. And when you do, you take everyone down with you.

My name is Julie, and I’m a Certified Massage Therapist, BodyMind Coach and Meditation Specialist in Waconia, MN.

If there's one thing I know, it's that we are drowning in chronic pain and stress, and it's all connected.

It’s connected like you wouldn’t believe.

  • 120,000 people die every year as a direct result of work-related stress.

  • Chronic stress is linked to the six leading cause of death.

  • More than 75 percent of all physician office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints.

And while massage therapy, exercise, and medical care are important components of our healing, they’re not enough. Not even close. As our friend Taylor Swift would say, it’s like putting band-aids on bullet holes!

You have to actually recognize and address the root cause of the pain and stress in the body.

BodyMind Coaching is a transformational coaching that uses the BodyMind Method to give the body a voice. The BodyMind Method is a coaching process that’s designed to awaken the mind, body, and soul and bring them into harmony, allowing you to live in alignment as you propel forward in life.

Studies have shown that chronic back pain can be caused by stuck emotions. Anger and pride creates tension, knots, and inflammation in the neck and shoulders. Chronic stress causes extra shoulder tension, so if you feel like you’re constantly under pressure (or you constantly put yourself under pressure) it will manifest in your body.

Just as referred pain is felt in areas of the body other than where it’s actually coming from, our buried emotions cause pain throughout our bodies that won’t be sated by treating the body.

But, the pain can be a guide.

Headaches signal a deep resistance to living one’s purpose. They can also be caused by a lack of self-love or strong anger towards an individual that creates an energetic block around the head.

  • Is this really how you want to live your life?

  • How does holding this anger serve you?

Lower back pain often deals with fear and loss, especially to do with financial security and how to move forward in life.

  • What are you afraid of?

Another client came to me on the verge of a heart attack due to work stress. While she still works in a stressful environment, she’s now built an impenetrable shield against that stress, fully understanding that it does not belong to her.

My own life transformed too! My relationships improved, my work-life balance improved, and I’m an internally stronger human and a better mom because of it.

And that vision of who I “had” to be, the role I “had” to play? I don’t really give a f*ck anymore. 😉

As women, we’re not encouraged to have a voice. As children, we’re told to sit down and be quiet. We’re not taught to stand up for ourselves and ask for what we need and want. We’re told to take what we’re given and be grateful for it, and a lot of the time we’re given scraps.

We do not have to accept scraps!

Imagine the weight of your responsibilities and expectations has been physically lifted from your shoulders.

You are light.

You are boundless.

You are safe.

You are free.

What will you do with all of that lightness?
