Have you been dreaming of doing voiceovers?

Doing voiceovers looks like so much fun, right? It would be so cool to hear your own voice on a commercial, video game, TV promo or movie trailer.

So what's stopping you?

I Know You've Been Thinking About it for Awhile

I started my voiceover business 10 years after the I got the idea.

A decade!

What took me so long?

People always told me I had a great voice. But maybe my thoughts were some of the same things that bother you:

  • I didn't like the sound of my voice.
  • I had always been picked on for "sounding White" as a Black woman.
  • I don't know how to break into the voiceover industry, or what to do.
  • I needed someone to guide me through the process.
  • What equipment do I need? Can I afford it?
  • Have I waited too long? Maybe I'm too old-- it's too late start now.
  • Can I do it from home, after my regular job?
  • Imposter syndrome.

Can't You Just See it?

Envision it! What would it feel like to...

  • Receive auditions every day from your agents, clients, and organic searches while working from home?
  • Hear yourself on a national TV spot or radio commercial?
  • Hear your voice as the narrator on a best-selling audiobook, Nat Geo special, a sports biography, a movie trailer, or a promo for your favorite cable network?
  • Be the character of a cartoon or video game?
  • Live announce an awards show?
  • Get notoriety for your work from mainstream outlets?
  • Leave your job for good, making money every day from your work in the booth?

Who am I?

I started my podcast in 2015 with no experience in audio, radio or voiceover, and got comfortable enough to venture into professional voiceover in 2016. I have 4 talent agents and have booked multiple VO projects in commercials, e-learning, corporate narration and audiobooks via my agents, online casting and direct marketing efforts. Some of my clients include the American Heart Association, Live Nation, the CDC, GE, the University of Pittsburgh, and Huntington Bank, to name a few.

While I'm working regularly, I continue learning and improving every day. I'm a student of acting classes in improv, Meissner Technique and scene study, with on-camera acting experience as well. I have also presented sessions about voiceover at several conferences, and I do all of this while still working at my full-time job in IT.
