WILHELMINA KISSONSINGH

Wilhelmina Kissoonsingh is presently Director in the Ministry of Health, Agriculture and HomeAffairs of the Turks and Caicos Islands. She is an experienced Agriculture Scientist, an Extensionist, and a Rural Sociologist who has worked directly within agriculture communities-including that of the Indigenous People-Macushi, Carib, Iroquois of North and South America.In the past twenty seven (27) years, she has contributed to the formulation of agricultural policy; has taught and conducted research in various areas of agriculture and rural development; and has provided works for publication in her areas of expertise. In recent years, Wilhelmina has concentrated on strengthening communication networks and linkages among farmers, researchers, input suppliers, agro-processors and policymakers in the Caribbean region, where she has worked as a Communications Expert on ‘Developing a Communications Plan andStrategy for the Caribbean Plant Health Directors Forum’ (CPHD).
