All travel, hotel, and food are the responsibility of the family at DR. For those of you who prefer to fly to Dallas as opposed to driving, some dancers typically get a group together and fly together. I will send you info on that as I get word of it.
The convention will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at DFW Airport. Please call the hotel and book your hotel room as soon as possible. Please tell them you are coming for Dance Revolution so you can get the group rate on the room which is $129 + tax.
Our Booster Club does an excellent job of helping ease the process of meals throughout the course of the weekend. Be on the lookout for an email from Ms. Nicole on how to alleviate some of your stress by ordering your meals through them.
Brief Overview of DR
The Friday night of Dance Revolution is a dance party/kick-off event for the weekend. This year’s theme is "The Revy Awards.” Usually the girls pick something to do with their companies or as a small group of friends and coordinate outfits together, but you do not have to. Make sure to come “Red Carpet ready” for the unique award show and dance party for DR’s 20 th anniversary celebration. Be on the lookout for fun ways to nominate your tribe for a Revy award!
Saturday starts with a performance from Dance Revolution's dance company, Ingredients, and the rest of the day is filled with dance classes. Saturday evening is a dance showcase that some of our dancers will perform in, as well as other studios. For the Saturday night showcase, company dancers and FCB will be invited to perform. Details on what those pieces will be will come soon.
Sunday morning is worship and an illustrated sermon/message performance put on by Ingredients Dance Company and the Dance Revolution staff. The remainder of the day is more dance classes and the afternoon concludes with a faculty showcase. All events for Sunday are finished by roughly 4:30pm and then everyone begins their journey home.
"Dance Revolution is a Christian community and we are not only learning how to dance to become a dancer, you’re dancing for God. I like that they don’t judge you on what you look like or what you dance like or what you’re struggling with. I like that I’m able to hang out with my friends while dancing my heart out for God."
"My favorite is the opening night when we have a masquerade themed dance party! I like that I get to meet new people. Instead of jumping right into dance we start each day with worship which I really like."
"It is pretty exciting your 1st year. I liked the worship time! They teach you dance but to have fun at the same time. Mr. Mark had our class making up names for different dance moves."
